This week, we arrived in the beautiful city of Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. We will be here until the end of April before flying back to America. I could not be more excited to see all that the Lord has planned while we are here. Over our time here, we will be divided into 3 groups. My team will be working with a group called Beats and Books which helps with educational help for kids from 8-18 as well as helps teach them how to play a variety of instruments! This is a ministry that I had heard about a while ago and I am so thankful that I am able to step into working alongside them during our time here. This ministry is an after-school program from 1-5 and is a ministry that racers have been involved in for a while. We have heard great things about the ministry and about the kids. Another one of our groups will be doing labor around a school as needed as well as evangelizing and the third group will be working at a local preschool. These ministries will run from Mondays-Fridays and on Saturdays we will get to do “adventure days” where we are able to do something fun in the area while also being intentional in listening to what the Lord is speaking. Today, we were able to go surfing in the morning and check out the beach town before heading home.

While here, we are being hosted by Global Missions which is the sweetest group of missionaries that are joyful in serving each and every World Race group that comes through Jeffrey’s Bay. The relationships that we are already forming here are some that I pray I remember for the rest of my life.

This week has been a little slow since our ministry has not yet fully started up. We were able to have our orientation, however, there is a World Race group that was here before us that was finishing up at the same ministry this past week. So, we have just been able to help with things around the campus we are staying at – gardening, painting, cleaning, helping watch kids at the school during events, etc. In the evenings, we have had meetings, testimonies, and a night of worship. It has been so wonderful to see how the Lord has been moving through our group, in our relationships with each other, with Him, and in those who we have encountered.
